Update Zapp URL

A Zapp can be built on one environment and then moved to another environment by simply updating the base URL used in the Zapp. For example, you may build your Zapp in your test or development environment and then move it to your production environment.

To change a Zapp's URL, go to the Zapps page in the Dashboard and click on particular Zapp to view the Zapp version menu. Click the three dots icon to open the Zapp menu.

Select "Update URL" from the dropdown menu.

Updating Basic URL Information

A new Zapp Details page will open. The current Zapp URL is displayed. You may enter a new Zapp domain, protocol (HTTP or HTTPS), and port number. If your Zapp includes an Automatic Popup that Capriza closes upon launch, a separate section is included below the start URL where you can update that popup’s domain.

You can click the restore icon at any time to revert your changes to the original URL, protocol, or port.

Once you are happy with your changes, click the “Next” button on the bottom of the screen. You will be taken to an Zapp Details page with the updated URL information.

Add Release Notes if applicable. Click “Go” to create a new version of your Zapp with the updated domain, protocol, and/or port information. The Designer will launch, and you can test your Zapp.

Updating the Full URL

In some cases, the full URL path rather than just the domain may vary between environments. To update the full URL, check the “Update full URL” box.

The protocol and port options will disappear and a longer textbox with the full URL path will display.

After making your changes, click the “Next” button. You will be taken to an additional URL verification screen where, if required, you can update the path of all other URLs included in your Zapp.

URLs are grouped by page, and each can be changed individually. Editing a top-level URL will change each of the child elements under it.

Once you are finished with your changes click “Next.” If you have not updated all URLs on the page, a message asking you if you would like to continue or keep editing will display.

An updated Zapp Details screen is included on the following page. All updates made to the Zapp’s URL are included in the “Updated URLs” section.

Click “Go” to create a new Zapp version with the updated URLs and open your Zapp in the Designer. It is recommended that you thoroughly test your Zapp to ensure workflows were not inadvertently broken during the URL Update process.

What if the path changed, not the domain?

When creating a new version, the Web URL is grayed out, so how is this done?
